Barbara Koffman, onze goede vriendin uit de UK, bekommerde zich al meerdere malen over de tanden van onze Foodstep kinderen. Met een heel team van Dentaid gaat ze al meer dan 10 jaar de strijd aan met de slechte tandhygiene in Uganda.
Dit jaar schonk de Rotary UK aan de Rotary Uganda een mobiele tandartsenunit. Aangezien Barbara ervaring heeft in de tropen, werd aan haar gevraagd om te kijken welk project er in aanmerking kwam om dit grote geschenk in ontvangst te nemen.
En ja hoor, Foodstep ging met de eer lopen!
Het werd een groot feest. Zelfs Miss Uganda, die aan charity projecten meedoet, was van de partij.
Barbara demonstreerde hoe een boor op zonne-energie goed werk levert en hoe een echte plooibare tandartsenstoel comfort biedt.
We aten taart, luisterde naar mooie en bemoedigende woorden.
Foodstep is nu de trotse eigenaar van een prachtige tandartsenunit die tevens mobiel is en dus meekan naar de verste en onbereikbaarste plekken in Uganda.

Barbara Koffman, our good friend from the UK, took care of the teeth of our Foodstep children for already many times. Together with a whole team of Dentaid she is fighting the bad teeth hygiene in Uganda for more than 10 years.
This year the Rotary of the UK donated a mobile dental unit to the Rotary of Uganda. Since Barbara has a lot of experience in Africa, she was asked to see which project would be applicable to receive this amazing donation.
And yes, it was Foodstep who got the honor!
It was a big party. Even Miss Uganda, who is involved in charity projects, was there.
Barbara showed that a drill is working well on solar-energy and how a flexible dentist chair can give real comfort.
We ate cake and listened to beautiful and encouraging words.
Foodstep is now the proud owner of a nice dental unit, which is mobile as well so can go to the most far and unreachable places in Uganda.
