Een hoopvolle toekomst / A hopeful future

We gaan alweer ons 5e jaar in Uganda tegemoet. Wanneer ik door ons fotoboek blader, zie ik alleen maar grote sprongen voorwaarts in het leven van de kinderen in Uganda.
Iedere week brachten we de kinderen in Kampiringisa eten, medische zorg, kleding, zeep, sport & spel, gebed en vooral veel liefde.
Ik startte jaren geleden in mijn eentje, maar heb nu een geweldig team rondom me heen staan. Social workers, pastors, clinical officers, Mariska, vrienden en familie.

Door onze fantastische sponsors konden we ook grote projecten verwezenlijken in Kampiringisa. Matrassen en dekens, een complete waterpompinstallatie (mede voor het hele dorp), medische ingrepen in hospitaals en medische materialen, schoenen, schoolgeld voor alle schoolgaande kinderen, voedselprojecten, oprichten van Vocational Trainingen...

Maar ook de samenwerking met de staf in Kampiringisa; de directeur, de probation officer, die ons weer een goedgekeurd bezoek brachten, de social workers, etc. Het is altijd weer een fijn weerzien.
De vele besprekingen en alle afspraken houden ons op het juiste, rechte pad.
Allemaal gaan we door voor die hoopvolle toekomst van het kind.

We houden ons steeds strikt aan de regels van de Ugandese wet. En komen al onze beloften na. Alles gebeurt openlijk en oprecht en wordt nagekeken door officiele instanties.
Pas nog werden onze kinderen bezocht door de de kinderbescherming. Na vele vragen en een urenlang bezoek, kregen we een positieve stempel op ons Foodstep beleid.
We werden zelfs bedankt voor alles wat we doen voor deze kinderen.
En vooral te horen dat we niets verborgen houden en er zoveel liefde uit ons hart vloeit, dat was nog de mooiste bekroning op ons werk!

Bedankt Uganda! Wij gaan door met uw kinderen lief te hebben.

We are entering our fifth year in Uganda. When I look through our photo book, I only see a lot of progress in the lives of the children in Uganda.
Every week we have been bringing food to the children in Kampiringisa, medical care, clothes, soap, sport & games, prayers and above all love.
I started on my own many years ago, but now I have a wonderful team around me; social workers, pastors, clinical officers, Mariska, friends and family.

With the help of our fantastic sponsors we were also able to establish big projects in Kampiringisa.
Mattresses and blankets, a whole new water pump system (as well for the whole village), surgeries in hospitals and medical equipment, shoes, school fees for all the children going to school, food projects, set up Vocational Trainings…

But also the cooperation with the staff of Kampiringisa; the director, the probation officer, who brought us a visit of approval, the social workers, etc. It is always good to meet together. The many discussions and all appointments keep us at the right track.
We all go on for that hopeful future of a child.

We follow and keep the rules of the Ugandan Law. And we keep all our promises. Everything happens openly and sincerely and is checked by official offices.
Just recently our children got a visit from the probation officer. After many questions and a visit that took hours, we go a positive note on our Foodstep policy.
We were even thanked for all we do for these children.
And to hear that we are transparent and that we show so much love from our heart, that was the best crown on our work!
